During this time, I helped in formulating a patent strategy to protect the company's technologies and new products. I also supervised outside counsel in the preparation and filing of patent applications in the US Patent Office and foreign patents offices. In conjunction with technical research, I monitored competitor's patents and patent applications. Worked with outside counsel in preparing freedom to operate opinions and directing research and development to engineer around competitor's patents avoiding litigation expenses and distraction to the business. I also prepared or reviewed all technology-related agreements such as confidentiality, research, material transfer and licensing agreements. I possess proven communication skills and liaise effectively with diverse personalities from all levels of management.
